Love in Action
|
A quote I heard this week deeply resonated with me: “A hungry stomach has no ears.” Let that sink in for a moment. When our most basic needs go unmet, everything else fades into the background. Wisdom, reason, and even love can go unheard when someone is simply trying to survive.
This is where we are called to step in—to be the hands and feet of Jesus. If we truly represent Christ, we must live out His love through action. Compassion isn’t just something we feel; it’s something we do. We are called to serve the hungry, the sick, the lonely, the poor—and so many others in need.
At Rahab’s Rope, the tagline is “Love in Action,” and that’s exactly what this looks like. When we meet physical needs with kindness and mercy, we make the presence of Jesus visible and real. Only then can hearts be open to hear, learn, and understand His love. Only then can they grasp the true meaning of Easter—that Jesus loved them so deeply He died and rose again, offering hope, life, and victory to us all.
This truth was beautifully illustrated this week in one of our stores. A young girl, maybe seven years old, came in with her dad. Her joyful voice filled the room as she looked around. When she saw photos of children from our ministry—some without shoes—she said, “Daddy, I need to give them my shoes. They don’t have any.” What a powerful reminder. It’s no wonder Jesus said that the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Her instinct was simple, pure, and selfless. She saw a need—and she wanted to meet it.
May we all have hearts like that little girl. May we see needs clearly and respond without hesitation. May we love like Jesus. There are needs all around us, and God calls each of us to action in different ways. Through the work of Rahab’s Rope and our staff serving in Southeast Asia, we encounter brokenness, poverty, and hunger every day. If God places it on your heart to support this ministry, we are deeply grateful.
Let’s continue to be love in action
