In January, I shared about our beloved staff member, Laxmi, who faithfully served with Rahab’s Rope for 16 years. After a courageous battle with cancer, Laxmi passed away, leaving behind two children—Angel (15) and Enoch (10). Their father had already passed away the year before.

In India, when children lose both parents, their future often depends on the willingness and ability of extended family members to step in. Relatives who assume responsibility must formally apply for legal guardianship under laws such as the Guardians and Wards Act. This legal status is essential for enrolling children in school, opening bank accounts, obtaining insurance, making medical decisions, and providing the stability every child needs. Without it, even the most basic necessities can become difficult to access.

We are deeply grateful that Angel and Enoch’s uncle, Suresh, and his wife, Rebekah, have chosen to raise them as their own. Suresh and Rebekah have faithfully served with Rahab’s Rope for 17 years, overseeing our children’s after-school program and leading life skills classes for both girls and boys. Through their love, dedication, and steadfast faith, they have shared the Gospel and helped transform countless lives within their community.

Suresh and Rebekah have one son and currently live in a one-bedroom apartment. Opening their home to Angel and Enoch is a beautiful expression of Christ’s love, but it also brings significant financial challenges.

Earlier this year, we believed we could secure a modest three-bedroom home and furnish it for approximately $65,000. Unfortunately, that option was no longer available, and the total cost has increased to $90,000 due to higher housing costs and unexpected bank and legal fees. While we have made substantial progress, we are still approximately $25,000 short of the amount needed.

The property owner has been incredibly gracious, allowing us to make a down payment and continue with monthly payments through December. However, the remaining balance must be paid in full at that time.

This is a moment when family, community, and faith come together. Suresh and Rebekah are opening their hearts and their home to provide a loving, stable future for Angel and Enoch. We are inviting others to join us in making that possible.

Would you prayerfully consider contributing toward this housing project? Your gift will provide more than a house—it will provide security, stability, and hope for two children who have already experienced tremendous loss.

Donations can be made online or by mail. If you would like additional information, please contact us at info@rahabsrope.com.
