Love in Action

Love in Action

For the past couple of weeks, I had the privilege of hosting four incredible women from the United States who poured their hearts into the women and children we serve. Their impact was profound and far-reaching.

They worked closely with children, helping with homework and teaching them about the love of Jesus through stories, songs, games, and hands-on activities. They also invested deeply in the women, sharing both the love of Christ and valuable life skills—many of which we often take for granted.

In total, we served approximately 200 children across four locations. The children learned the true story of Christmas using a felt board, placing the characters themselves as the story unfolded. This interactive approach made the message exciting and memorable. We fed the children, gave them gifts, played games, visited parks, and swam in a pool—an experience that was a first for most of them. Above all, they were surrounded with love.

We also provided practical health education. About 30 teenage boys who often run barefoot in the slums received wound care training. Approximately 65 teenage girls learned about hygiene and the life cycle and were given hygiene kits. One class of 27 young women in their teens and early twenties had never received any education about their bodies. These lessons were not only important—they were desperately needed.

Additionally, we served approximately 175 women across five locations. At one site, women practiced mehndi drawing as part of their beauty school training. We taught classes on hygiene, healthy eating, and prayer. One special day included taking about 70 mothers and their children to a park, where they played games, enjoyed a picnic, used the playground, and swam together. For most, it was their first time ever being in a swimming pool.

We also taught Sunday School, shared testimonies in church, and openly shared the love of Christ. At one location, the Christmas story was shared with over 400 people at an outdoor event—and only God knows how many more heard it from their homes nearby.

I could easily spend two months of Sundays sharing stories from just these two weeks. Every single day was impactful, meaningful, and filled with purpose.

Thank you to this amazing team for serving, giving, and going. And thank you to all of you who continue to support this vital work. Your partnership makes moments like these possible.
