Greetings from Southeast Asia!
This past week, we had the joy of celebrating Christmas with the ladies from the red-light district. We rented a bus and took them on a special day trip—something many of them had never experienced before. In total, 56 ladies joined us for a day filled with care, encouragement, and celebration.
We arranged a full day of hospitality and love, including a nice breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea with cookies. The ladies were so excited for the opportunity to go, and their joy was evident from the very start.
Our program began at 10:00 a.m. with prayer and songs, followed by sharing the story of the birth of Jesus. Afterward, many of the ladies asked for individual prayer, which was a deeply meaningful time for everyone involved. We also heard testimonies from four ladies who shared how God has changed their lives since coming to Rahab’s Rope.
In the afternoon, ladies who regularly attend our center performed dances, our staff presented a drama, and everyone enjoyed playing games together. One of the highlights of the day was celebrating eleven ladies who completed our weekly vocational training programs:
- Four completed the sewing course
- Two completed the beauty school program
- Five completed the Mehendi drawing class
We are especially excited to share that, because of this Christmas program, six new ladies have decided to join us to learn a skill for future employment.
The ladies and our staff wanted us to pass along a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports this work. This blessed day would not have been possible without you.
With gratitude,
The Rahab’s Rope Team
