God Sees You
There are times in our lives when we all feel unseen—for many different reasons. We may feel unseen by our coworkers, our family, our friends, and sometimes even by God. But we are not invisible. God sees everything, and He sees us. God sees us through His eyes, not human eyes.
1 Samuel 16:7 – “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
Last week, I sat in a room with about 50 women who live in a red-light area. Oh, how the world looks down on them because of where they live. They do not live there by choice; they were forced to live there. Every one of them would leave if they had the opportunity.
Rahab’s Rope is there to help them see that there is a way—and that they do have a choice. We do this through the love of Christ in action. Our desire is for them to know there is a God who loves them, who sees them, and who deeply cares for them.
In Genesis 16, God lets Hagar know that He sees her. When she realizes this, she says, “You are the God who sees me,” and “I have now seen the One who sees me.” At that moment, she truly believed in God and understood that He cared for her. This is our prayer for every woman we serve.
Pihu, Alma, Sapano, Firoja, Maina, Rupa, Madhu, Anjali, Asha, Lutfa, Maduri, Kavita, Rekha, Mamta, Sapna, Mahora, Aruha, Alina, Methu, Rupa, Jahima, Rojina, Sumi, Kavita, Rojina, Sabina, Shivani.
These are names of women that God sees. These are the women who make the Good Money bracelets that we sell. Each bracelet represents hope, dignity, and the truth that their lives matter. Through this work, they are reminded that someone cares—and through the love shown by our staff, they begin to see that there is a God who sees them and cares for them deeply.
