Honoring Laxmi’s Life by Caring for Her Children

For 16 years, Laxmi was a pillar of Rahab's Rope - faithfully serving children in one of the slum communities where we work. She helped with homework, taught life skills, and created a safe place filled with patience, laughter, and love. Even during her final year, she continued visiting our women's center, encouraging others with her warmth and kindness.

In January, Laxmi passed away from cancer, leaving behind her two children, Angel and Enoch.  Their father had already passed away.  Now, their uncle Suresh - who has served with Rahab's Rope for 17 years - is stepping forward to raise them as his own.

This is a beautiful act of love.  And, it's a heavy financial responsiblity.

Laxmi spent her life giving to others. Now, we have the opportunity to give back—providing her children with safety, stability, and hope. Every gift—large or small—directly impacts Angel and Enoch’s future.

Urgent Need: A Safe Home

Suresh, his wife Rebekah, and their son currently live in a one‑bedroom apartment. Welcoming Angel and Enoch into their family requires a larger, stable home.  We are seeking one‑time funding of $90,000 to secure a modest, three‑bedroom apartment and essential furnishings for their new family of five.

Ongoing Need: Education for Angel and Enoch

To ensure their schooling continues without interruption, we are establishing an education fund. School expenses in India—including tuition, uniforms, transportation, books, and supplies—total approximately $1,500 per child per year.
