The Name that Changes Everything!

Jesus – The name above all names and the name that changes everything. There is power in the name of Jesus. In Him we find life and healing. He is a refuge from the storm. He is hope that is unshakable. He is mercy and grace and love. Jesus is the power that saves.

Today I will share the story of Nan that helps us illustrate the power of Jesus. One day Nan shared her story with other women at our center. Nan had been tricked, with the promise of a job, into the red-light area. Both of Nan’s parents had passed away and she saw no hope. She felt she had no choice and her only way to survive was in the red-light area.

Nan shared, “In my life I only sat and did nothing except wait for customers. Then one day God brought the staff of Rahab’s Rope to visit me. They asked me what I wanted to do with my life, and I told them – I want to die! The staff began coming to me and counseling me and I started coming to the center. At the center I learned to read and write and sew. I am still struggling with a few things but I know I am here today because of Jesus and He gave me the strength to share my story with you. I am so thankful to God for loving me and for the staff of Rahab’s Rope for believing in me. I can now leave this place and have a new life. I want all of you to know the same is possible for you.”

In the name of Jesus, all things are possible.
