Serve Faithfully
For the next four weeks we will be highlighting our values and why we do what we do. We will support our values with examples of women and children we have served. Our heart is to Serve Faithfully, Walk Humbly, Restore Dignity and Love Boldly. Thank you for being part of our story and helping us carry Hope to women and children.
We first met Geeta when she was about 25 years old, she had been forced into trafficking at an early age. Someone had told her about our center, and she began coming for vocational training and discovered that she was a natural at sewing. Geeta was faithful to come every day for about two years and was making product for us to sell here in the U.S. Slowly overtime she began coming less and less. We called to check on her. She said she wanted us to come and visit her at her place. Geeta lived about an hour from our center. When we arrived, she had a surprise for us. She had gotten some people in the community to help her, and she had built a small block building. About ten or twelve women were standing outside waiting for our arrival with big smiles on their faces. She said, “I thought if Vicki can come here and do this for us then I can also do it for others like me.” When we walked inside it was amazing! She had samples of various types of sewing, clothing and jewelry samples with illustrations attached to the walls. On her desk lay a Bible that she could share with the other women. Geeta had realized her God given purpose to serve other women and bring them love, dignity and opportunity.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
