Send Me
Remember when you were a child and leaders were picking the ones to be on their team, and you were either loudly or silently screaming PICK ME! PICK ME! Or you were like me, and you are five feet even and on the basketball team sideline always wishing the coach would pick you to go in the game. Do we have that same response when it comes to going for God? What do we do when He says, “I want you to go.” Do we doubt He is really choosing us? Or do we say, like Isaiah, “Here I am send me.”
Well, my story goes like this. Have you ever had one of those days when everything was going as normal and then something happened that changed everything? This happened to me in 2004, when I was on my computer just looking at various mission websites and came across a story about women in South Asia. I had made a few short-term trips and loved going there and loved the people. But this story was something I had never heard about, human trafficking. After reading the stats and stories I could not believe I had never heard of this thing called human trafficking. I was thinking why don’t we all know about this and why aren’t we all doing something to stop it. And of course, not in an audible voice but it was as if God was saying, “I want you to do something, I want you to help these women and children, I want you to go.” I was a stay-at-home mom raising my children, how could I do anything? Yet, I never had a doubt that God was asking me to go and to do. It reminds me of the Stephen Curtis Chapman song, “The Great Adventure”. “It hit me like a lightning bolt I saw a big frontier in front of me, and I heard somebody say, Let’s go.” It has truly been a great adventure of seeing God’s amazing grace work in the lives of so many, including myself. So, join me in following our leader into the glorious unknown. The love of God will take us far beyond our wildest dreams. If you think God is saying “Let’s go”, please contact us to learn more.
Our next adventure will be December 27 – January 10. On this trip you will get to experience both our direct intervention work with women in the red-light area and our prevention work with children as we visit two cities and four ministry site locations.
Be an Isaiah, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
