Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy Day!!!
Rahab’s Rope serves a country in Southeast Asia where approximately 23 million children ages 5–18 do not attend school. Of those who do enroll, about 40% drop out to work or help with household responsibilities—and the dropout rate for girls is even higher than for boys.

So why am I saying, “Oh Happy Day”?

Because the ministry of Rahab’s Rope is helping break those social norms. Every child who participates in our tutoring program and life skills classes completes school—and some even go on to college. When school closed for summer break from mid-March through April, we wanted to celebrate their hard work. So, we chartered two buses and took all 140 of them to a water park. Many had never experienced anything like it before. To say they had a blast would be an understatement. I thought you’d enjoy a happy story—and the smiling faces that came with it.
