Love is Patient and Kind

Love is Patient and Kind

This past month we received several success stories from our staff that work in the red-light areas. We praise the Lord for these stories and want to share them with you. Without your support this work would not be possible.

In one of the red-light areas where we work one of the women, our staff has been reaching out to was arrested. She left behind three daughters with an alcoholic customer. Our staff were able to rescue the three girls ages 7, 5 and 3. We placed them in a girls home that we have worked with for years. We are so thankful that our staff were aware of the situation and were able to act quickly before something happened to the little girls.

In another instance, one of the women that come to our center brought her sick son for our staff to pray for his health. Soon after we prayed for him, he was healed from his sickness. We believe this is how God reveals himself, that He is the one true God. They pray to their gods, and nothing happens. They see when we pray to our God, He answers. Pray that all who witness this will believe in Jesus.

A young boy that is coming to our tutoring class had no identification. Therefore, it was impossible to get him enrolled in school. Our staff were able to get the child’s identification as well as an ID card for his mother. His mother began coming to our programs. She is enrolled in our literacy class learning to read and write for the first time in her life. She also joined our sewing class. As she is learning to read, we gave her a Bible, and she is beginning to read the Bible. Her husband saw all we were doing to help his family and began asking questions. We have been praying for him, and his life is beginning to change. He was often physically abusive to his wife and children but now he has stopped and is focusing on developing his faith in the Lord.

This is the work that our staff accomplish on a regular basis. They are fearless in our mission because they trust in the Love that restores, renews and redefines every life He touches. Love is patient and kind, but never passive. It crosses oceans, steps into red-light districts, and walks into the heart of hardship, believing that light always has the final word.

Thank you for believing and supporting the ministry of Rahab’s Rope.
