LOVE BOLDLY
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
How boldly do we actually love? Do we dare to follow God? Do we walk into those hard places knowing it is going to be tough emotionally, physically or both? I know you can think of times when you know you needed to do something for someone, but you just weren’t sure you could, it might cost too much. I have certainly been there. There have been many that have dared to follow God and experienced the joy that far outweighs the suffering. Amy Carmichael was one that dared to follow God. As a young woman she felt called to be a missionary. Amy spent over 50 years in India helping children that had been orphaned, abandoned, exploited or sold into temple prostitution. Her life will provoke you to examine the depths of your own faith and encourage you to reaffirm your life and commitment to Christ. Amy once said, “You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.”
When someone has never had the opportunity to experience true love it is hard for them to understand or accept it. Once they do, it is complete transformation in their life. Over the years, I have heard many women say, “Noone has ever loved me until you came”, meaning the staff and volunteers of Rahab’s Rope. We are fearless in our mission because we trust in a Love that restores, renews, and redefines every life He touches. May we all dare to follow Jesus. May we all love boldly enough to walk into hard places, knowing God has the final word.
