Let every living, breathing creature praise God! Hallelujah!

Let every living, breathing creature praise God! Hallelujah!

Since 2017, Rahab’s Rope has been working in an area of Southeast Asia where 80% of the families are affected by drug and alcohol addictions. Violence against women and children is prevalent and over fifty percent of women expect domestic violence. Drug abuse and sex trafficking go hand in hand. In 2017 we met an incredible lady that has the training but more importantly the heart to help women in these circumstances. We have joined with her in fighting this cause. Last week I received an update from her that I would like to share with you today.

From our Director "God is fulfilling our time and unlocking our potential that gives us strength when we’re weak, heals us when we’re sick, comforts us when we’re emotionally weak and affirms our life day to day. So, Praise God! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalms 150:6

This past quarter He has given us an opportunity to reach out to 41 patients suffering from alcohol and drug abuse. In the past, we have received very little support from family members as they have considered it a shame. But God started working in the hearts of the families and now many are taking the responsibility to stand with their sons and daughters in their journey to healing and health. This quarter we reached out to 41 clients, 17 were discharged with success and we will continue to stand with them for a successful journey. 24 are still with in the program. Please pray for their success. Many of our clients receive Christ while they are with us, and this is key to their success. Three of our graduating clients have enrolled in a discipleship training school to learn more about Christ and to help others.

Daily and weekly programs and activities include teaching concerning addictions, devotions, worship, support group, counseling, testimony sharing, game night, and coffee night. Through the various programs GOD gives us insight with client interaction. We see His nature and character that we are made in His image. Staff and clients alike realize there is always something new to learn from one another. Through all the programs, recreational activities, work duties and occupational therapy we can see their potential."

A financial request was made to support a Chaplin for two months to train the staff at the center. They need help from someone who knows the biblical background of dealing with people with addictions. They said without spiritual transformation we cannot win the soul and true transformation will not take place. We have found a pastor with the proper training and a Master of Theology degree. He is willing to come for the next two months and we have committed to his financial support. Please be praying for the Chaplin, the staff and the clients. We can’t wait to see what God will do. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalms 150:6
