God's Faithfulness

God's Faithfulness

Most of the time when we hear the word overwhelmed it is with a negative emotion. Today, I would like to use it with a very positive connotation. Today, I would like to use the word overwhelmed in reference to God’s overwhelming power and strength in our lives.

To say the work, we do in the red-light area is difficult; physically, emotionally and spiritually is a gross understatement. In the early years of our work in the red-light area, the building looked much like a barn. We went there day after day for two years without a rescue. It was easy to question if we were making a difference. We did see many prayers answered for healing of sickness and the women were happy we were there. We saw women come and go as they were moved to and from other locations. We never knew what happened to many of them. But in our weakness, God is so faithful. God is always working even when we don’t know, He knows. We later learned that five of the women that went missing were found attending a local church. Four of the five had even been baptized. We serve an amazing God that just wants us to do our part, and He will do the rest. God calls some of us to plant seeds, some to water and He always gives the increase. I stand in awe of the God we serve and overwhelmed with His sovereignty. Today we work in an area of over 1200 women. We have rescued and aided the rescue of many women and children. We have taught many women to read and write and helped them get jobs. We have seen many become believers!

This holiday season, as we place our focus on the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Let’s remember the birth of Jesus is the fulfillment of a promise from God. Jesus came to restore us to God and provide a way to eternal life. God is love and He loves us so much! God is all-powerful and He is present everywhere. God is good, wise, holy, righteous, truthful, merciful, and compassionate. God is unchanging and He is sovereign. He is working, even when we don’t see it or feel it.

It is the season to Believe!
