Go and Love!
How do you know if a short-term mission trip is right for you?
Do you have a desire to serve others…A desire to grow in your faith…
A willingness to learn from others and expand your understanding of the world?
Short-term missions are service-oriented, to the mission’s staff and those they serve every day. Mission trips create space for you to rally around people faithfully loving and serving every day in hard places. You come along beside our staff and help be the hands and feet of Jesus as they determine how to help and bring hope to their community.
On missions, you get to share life, love, truth, and grace to other people who may not have heard it before or would not have heard it the way you talk about Jesus. Sharing the Gospel is not only life-giving to other people, but also life-giving to you, as you grow more confident in who you are and who God is to you. It can re-energize you, give you fresh vision, and put new passion in you for deeper relationship with Jesus.
Missions are inseparable from our faith. God said for us to go into all the world to bring the good news of Jesus. Jesus loves all the children of the world. Our God is a God of love, and we are to share that love with others. Love is an action word. I can’t just tell you I love you, I must show you that I love you. Serving others and getting out of our comfort zone shapes and molds our character in Christ.
"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
