Artisan Partners

Our artisan partners are very important to us. The main reason is they help women from various backgrounds fighting poverty, discrimination, abuse, trafficking and the list continues. Our model gives women from other organizations around the world employment and the profits help fund the work we do in helping women and children. Today’s story is about one of our artisan partners that holds a special place for Rahab’s Rope because they too help women rescued from human trafficking. The women from this organization had been forced into a life of abuse, trauma and pain that is beyond our imagination. Our partner believes in compassion and the dignity of every person. Approximately 30 women have full-time employment. The women make natural soaps and recycled sari products. We carry their soaps, Christmas ornaments and skirts. Although they do share their story and what happened to them, they say they would much rather share and focus on where they are today. They are respected and have dignity. They are taught not only skills to make the products but educated in the planning of product selection and development. Their ideas are listened to, and they are made to feel part of the company team. Pictured are some of the products they make for us, various fabric Christmas ornaments, natural soap, and cotton skirts. We actually have a shipment on the sea headed to us now. It will be here in plenty of time for your Christmas shopping, a win-win situation!
