An Update and Two Special Needs this Month
Dear Friends,
The ministry of Rahab’s Rope continues to grow, and we are so blessed by all that God is doing. It is rare that we ask for financial help, but two unexpected needs have come up this month that we would like to share with you. If you are able to help with any amount, it would be greatly appreciated, and every dollar will be used wisely and responsibly.
It is with heavy and grieving hearts that we share the passing of one of our long-time staff members. Laxmi worked with Rahab’s Rope for nearly 16 years and was a tremendous blessing to our ministry, the children in our tutoring program, and the teenage girls in our life-skills classes. Her kind and loving spirit truly exemplified Christ.
Laxmi’s husband passed away last year, and she leaves behind two children, a 14-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son. Our local director and his wife will be adopting the children as their own. Please keep this family in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Rahab’s Rope will be covering funeral expenses, school fees, and other related needs for the children. The second need involves our preschool ministry. In 2017, God led us to open a preschool in an area known as a major source and transit region for human trafficking. This state is one of the most turbulent in the country, marked by ethnic conflict and insurgency. Many of the surrounding hill districts have limited access to education and employment, leaving families especially vulnerable to the false promises of traffickers.
We saw a great need for quality education and for instilling Christian values in young children. What began with 25 students has now grown to 90. Because of the terrain and distance, transportation is essential. We purchased a vehicle several years ago to meet this need, but it has now broken down beyond repair. We have located a reliable used vehicle that will serve our program well at a cost of $6,500.
