A Story of Impact

A Story of Impact

Dear friends,

Over the past year, I’ve shared with you about the organic growth of our Wednesday night house prayer meetings. Today, I want to share a specific story that beautifully illustrates the impact these gatherings are having.

Recently, a family of three—a husband, wife, and their son—moved into one of the slum communities where we serve. They attended one of our Wednesday night house prayer meetings and shared that since moving, they had been unable to find work. They asked us to pray for them.

Our staff invited the couple to join us at church the following Sunday, and both the husband and wife, Nell, came. During that visit, Nell asked if we could hold a prayer meeting in her home. We planned to go the following week.

When we met at their house, we shared the gospel and prayed with the family and others who had gathered. That evening, we also met their son, who had a painful wound on his foot. Because they did not have the money to take him to a doctor, we were able to provide funds for medical care. We prayed together, asking God to heal their son and to provide jobs for the parents.

The following Sunday, Nell returned to church with wonderful news. They had taken their son to the doctor, and his foot was beginning to heal. Even more, Nell shared that she had found work the very day after we prayed. She joyfully told us that God was answering their prayers—and that Sunday, Nell accepted Christ as her Savior.

The next week, she returned again and shared that her husband had also found work. While his job requires him to work on Sundays and prevents him from attending church right now, Nell asked us to pray that he would come to know Christ as well. She also asked for prayer that, now that they both have jobs, they would be able to find a better home for their family.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Please continue to pray for our staff and for those they serve, as God continues to work in powerful and personal ways.

Blessings, Vicki
